BackSide Fabrics Beginnings:

Welcome to BackSide Fabrics! My name is Christine Scholz, and I am the owner. BackSide Fabrics is a small, internet based, family run business, and is located in the Lake Norman area of NC (near Charlotte). We specialize in wide quilt backing fabrics that are both beautiful and affordable, Quilters Dream Batting, and fiber art/art quilting supplies at great prices.

BackSide Fabrics was born from my longarm machine quilting business, The Quilting Patch. The Quilting Patch opened for business in May of 2004 after the purchase of a Proto Stitch Wizard longarm quilting machine. The Quilting Patch provides a variety of professional services including longarm quilting, quilt bindings, full construction of T-Shirt quilts, and commissioned quilts.

Customers kept asking if I carried wide quilt backs, so the light bulb went off! After doing some research, I found that there was a need in the quilting community for an online store that specialized in beautiful and affordable wide quilt backings. BackSide Fabrics opened for business in June 2007!

Plans are to continue to expand our quilt backing inventory so that you can find the largest selection of wide quilt backing fabrics at the best prices, and also with the best customer service. Who knows; there may even be a catalog in the future!
