As I wrote in BackSide Fabrics latest eNews, I don't have much time these days for personal projects, so getting a quilt completed last year was a major accomplishment! Here is what I wrote:
"Since starting BackSide Fabrics, I am usually so busy running the business and quilting for others, that I never have time for personal projects. (I STILL have a BOM quilt from 2006 that I'm working on!) So every new year, I start out with the intention of completing at least one personal quilt during the year. After several years of trying, I'm proud to say that last year I actually did! It was a quilt for my husband for his birthday, and I'm happy to report that he did get it shortly after his birthday!! :) I saw the fabric collection in a brochure that we received from Windham Fabrics, and couldn't believe my eyes when it featured retro flat track motorcycle racing posters. My husband (and my brother) used to race flat track back in the 80's, so it was a quilt that I just had to make! He couldn't believe it when he saw it, which made it all the more special. Don't you love it when you find fabric like that? I used our 108" Essentials Collection Dotty Waves in Black for the back, which was a perfect complement to the quilt top."
What intentions/plans do you have for projects this year? Post your comments below!
