Hello BackSiders! It has been 3 years; wait....what? 3 years? Really??? Okay, I admit it. It has been 3 years since my one and only blog post. I just did a double take when I looked to see what the date of that one and only post was! Its not like I hadn't started other posts.....I just haven't ever finished them. And 2017 was going to be different! I was going to post twice a week! Starting in January! Well, here it is April 25th and I am finally getting around to my first post of the year, and it is not even what I was originally going to post about. But we'll save that for next time because I have a time sensitive subject.
So last Friday morning I picked up my little local newspaper, the Denver Weekly , at the end of my driveway where it is every week. When I took it out of its little plastic bag I saw one of my good friends, Jean Funderburk, smiling back at me on the cover! What an awesome surprise! And look at these gorgeous ladies and thier quilts! Here's the picture below - she's the second from the left:
There was a nice story about the guild and information about their 25th Anniversary Quilt Show, "Silver Threads", upcoming this weekend, April 28th and 29th 9:30 - 5:00 at the James W. Warren Citizens Center in Lincolnton, NC. I will be attending with my Mom on Saturday. If you are anywhere in the vicinity this show is always worth the drive. If you are interested in reading the article, here is a link to it below. However, I did notice an error - it says their guild meetings are on the third Tuesday of the month but they are actually on the third Thursday. I'll also post a link to the guild's website!
